Apply to the 2024 Workshop

Applications for the 2024 CPS Rising Stars workshop are closed! Awardees will be notified on April 1, 2024 April 8, 2024.

The CPS Rising Stars looks to recognize the accomplishments of a diverse group of researchers in cyber-physical systems. We specifically call for applications from members of underrepresented groups. In 2023, applicants represented 53 schools and 8 degree programs.

Eligibility

The 2024 CPS Rising Stars Workshop is open to graduate students and postdocs in Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) core research areas. CPS areas are as defined by the National Science Foundation CPS program, and include control, data analytics, machine learning including real-time learning for control, autonomy, design, Internet of Things (IoT), mixed initiatives including human-in- or human-on-the-loop, networking, privacy, real-time systems, safety, security, and verification. In addition, the workshop especially encourages women, underrepresented minorities, and persons with disabilities to apply.

Applicants should be within about 1-3 years of graduating with a PhD at the time of the workshop, or have obtained a PhD no earlier than 2021 and do not currently hold a faculty position. New for the 2024 Workshop: We are now welcoming applications from eligible applicants affiliated with U.S. institutions, as well as international applicants.

The selected CPS Rising Stars will receive travel support to attend the workshop, which will cover reasonable travel expenses (e.g., flight), hotel accommodation, and meals.
