Dr. Sijie Ji will commence research as a Schmidt Science Fellow working in Caltech. She obtained her Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2023, under the supervision of Dr. Mo Li. Sijie’s research interests span the broad area of cyber-physical systems, artificial intelligence of things (AIoT), sensing, mobile computing and smart health. Sijie has published first-author papers in top conferences such as ACM SenSys, IEEE ICDCS, and ICC, etc.In addition, Sijie has ranked top 3 in multiple academic competitions in computer vision conferences (ICCV, CVPR, and ACMMM) and has been published invited technical reports. Sijie was the N2Women Young Researcher Fellowship recipient and was named Singapore 100 Women in Tech, 2023.
With the spread of the Internet of Things, sensors are everywhere to collect information from their surroundings and IoT devices are ideal gateways to bridge the physical world and digital world seamlessly. My research is at the forefront of this technological evolution, tackling the technical challenges that are intrinsic to IoT systems and simultaneously expanding the horizons of IoT's influence. My work not only addresses the technical challenges inherent in IoT but also extends its impact into transformative areas such as data analytics, mobile edge computing, embedded systems, artificial intelligence, and wireless communication. By integrating these disciplines, I aim to push the boundaries of IoT, enabling sustainable, scalable, and trustworthy AIoT ecosystems that have a profound and positive impact on society.
